Question Cheapest 1 TeraByte HDD (Hard Disk Drive)?

1 Terabyte = 1,000 GB, that's a lot of storage, but that's the typical size of drive you'll want to be using for recording IP CCTV images.

Disk drives are getting cheaper all the time.

Over at Dabs.com this Samsung 1TB SATA internal HDD is just £70 +VAT!

and this 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda is only £113 +VAT.

I can remember when we used to reckon that £1 per GB was a good rule of thumb for costing hard discs, at these prices it works out at 7p per GB!!

Let us know if you can find better deals than these ...

Default 1TB HDDs for £50 +VAT!!!

It's hard to believe (certainly if you've bought a branded CCTV DVR recently) that you can now purchase a 1 TB hard disc drive for just £50 ...

See this Hitachi example over at Aria

Add this to your PC and you'll be able to record CCTV from your network cameras for weeks ...

That's amazing - we are now down to a price rate of just 5p per Gigabyte of hard disk storage capacity!

Never mind the price, what about the quality?
I am going to 'set the cat amongst the pigeons' and ask who makes the best / most reliable hard drives?
