Managed Video as a Service (MVaaS) is a relatively new solution offering which allows you to record from your network cameras directly managed servers on the internet.

Software as a Service (SaaS) is gaining in popularity, with services like Salesforce.com being amongst the best known.

The major advantage offered by this so-called cloud computing is that it's no longer necessary to invest in your own at-site hardware and software, you simply use a browser to access solutions provided by others, and typically pay a monthly fee or service charge for your usage of the solution. Other advantages include managed backups and ongoing, seamless developments and upgrades.
