converting .m4v files from my sanyo VCC-HD4600P IP camera into .avi s or dv movies.

    Can anyone help me? I have recorded some badgers at night on my Sanyo VCC HD4600P IP camera onto the SD card. Now i want to edit the shots. However, i am really struggling to convert the files which are .m4v format into video files that my editing software can use - AVID. I have tried to use some free download software and free trials for pricey converter software but can't get anything to work.

    Does anyone know what to do?
