one other alternative is to search your cameras model on Global Hikvision site and go to RESOURCES to see if there are any new firmware there:
https://www.hikvision.com/en/
another option is to search on Hikvision PORTAL:
- EU PORTAL...
Then choose the version without (D):
Firmware: Firmware_V4.83.013_241227
Release notes: V4.83.013 build241227_ReleaseNotes
Applied to: DS-7608NXI-K1/8P
This is the file I find for your NVR:
Firmware: Firmware_V4.84.035_250723
Release notes: NVR V4.84.035_250723_ReleaseNotes
Applied to: DS-7608NXI-K1/8P(D)
You can search and download it from here:

I've done some test, on my DS-7216HQHI-K1 DVR with 3 different 2 way audio capable IP Cameras:
- DS-2CV2021G2-IDW (E) - E8 Series camera
- DS-2CD2420F-IW - R2 Series camera
- IPC-B120HA-D-W-(W)
but non of them worked when accessed via DVR in Hik-Connect.
Also, all of them worked just fine when...
Some additional findings:
- 1 big square is divided in 9 small squares, in a 3x3 pattern
- the minimum highlighted area remans the equivalent of a big square
- from this big square now they can overlap with other big square area, so the contour of in motion object is now more refine and precise...
SOLVED: if you change the Camera Web Interface -> Video/Audio -> Sub-Stream -> Max Bit Rate to highest allowed value, after restart, the square size in Hik-Connect, will become smaller. I tried it even on 2MP camera and work perfect.
Not sure how this will affect Motion Detection function, but...
Attached requested info.
So the cameras are identical and Video Config is very similar.
Only difference I see is the Max Bitrate. I have to add that both cameras are connected via WIFI only.
Can this be the cause of different square sizes?
I did configured them identical (as the one with...
I have a question:
After I activated HIGHLIGHT MOVING OBJECTS in Hik-Connect application, I was surprised to see a difference in live view of my 4MP identical cameras. The left camera is showing bigger green squares, and the right camera is showing smaller squares.
Is this normal or abnormal? Is...
Update: since I've done the above changes, no more exception alerts!
So I guess this is the solution to try when experiencing similar behavior.
Thanks again @JB1970 for your advices.
I am not an expert by any means, but it seems the power supply might be faulty.
If it is with normal round barrel, you can try another 12V power supply, rated with Amps equal or greater to what is written on the DVR label sticker.
I see that there is a new Wi-Fi 6 camera model here:
https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Cameras/Wi-Fi-Series/ds-2cfw02--eu-/
What I found to be interesting is the new naming convention.
Are you aware of this change?
Thanks @JB1970 for sharing your experience and your advices.
I did tried most of them, I have changed the NTP to ro.pool.ntp.org, the NTP query interval to 360 minutes, and added Cloudflare as alternative DNS server. This changes were performed both on NVR and Cameras side.
Hope this will have...
