Thanks for the info. I have a trail camera that has the 940nm type fitted that has a quoted range of 18m but it needs 44 LED's to illuminate over that range. I guess it depends on the camera as well.

Ah, I was expecting the IR LED's to be the invisible type. They must be quite powerful if there's only three of them. Thanks for the reply.

Hi, when my DS-2CD2155FWD-I goes into night vision it shows three red LED's around the lens. Is it possible to turn them off (attract less attention) but leave the infra red illuminating LED's on? The only setting I can find to turn them off is to untick 'Enable IR Light' in System - Maintenance...
