After several days of port swapping and testing the results, I can now confirm that any cameras connected to ports D1 to D4 and D9 to D12 are suffering random video loss of signal and sluggish operation in live view. And ports D5 to D8 and D11 to D16 work absolutely fine. My initial thoughts...
