mine had 1 bad sector also. It has now gone. I replaced with purple WD23PUZ Western Digital.

well hat is odd, mine occurred on Thursday30th /Friday31st Oct last week. I re initialised, and it failed again this AM. I am using WD23PURZP Western Digital 2TB HDD 3.5 5400RPM Sata. Not even a year old, on a remote site - no UPS.
