Yes it was a POE switch. So not sure why it didn't fire up. It was only when I was typing the initial post I remembered something about a fidgety temporary wiring job I had last time (as per photo).

Just uploaded the new firmware, and NVR navigation feels slow and in many cases it is not loading up sub pages at all, anyone else having an issue? Indeed can not get the maintenance page to load to get back to older firmware?

Is it correct to say no value in cat 6 between nvr and camera (domestic), as bandwidth not an issue on cat 5? Even for future proofing cat 5 is a long way from being a problem. I will use cat 6 between nvr and router.
