I got 53 IP cameras, which Switch and NVR should I get?

You won't find 53-port POE switches, so break it down according to the locations of the camera count. By placing the switch(es) closer to the cameras you can save a lot of cabling e.g. a switch for the cameras on the first floor, another for the cameras on the second floor (just an example)...

2 Way Audio No longer working DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL - Firmware or configuration error?

Quick update from Hik UK Tech Support to @Kyle - who is currently on holiday: I am writing to update the progress. We are going to release the HikConnect 5.0.3 which has this bug fixed. The team is in the testing process so the release of the new app version will be soon.

Door Entry Can I optimise the motion detection recording of my doorbell to ignore passing traffic, but notify me when somebody is at the door / presses the bell?

Hi, Just tell us what you think the subject should be and we will correct it / tidy this thread. We restrict self-editing until you have made a number of Posts, to prevent spammers abusing self-edits e.g. we have experienced that they return and add spammy links

Sorry, we don't tend to get many Dahua experts here at this forum (most are experienced with Hikvision only).

DS-2DF8225IH-AELW (Darkfighter X PTZ) restarting after dark?

Yes, it is most likely that the units that you initially tried were not able to supply enough power / cope with the current drawn by your PTZ.

    Simple indoor security camera?

Almost everything that we offer is Pro kit and non-WiFi (meaning that you would need to install and connect a network cable back to your router). I'd say that your most straight-forward and cost-effective solution would be to leave your WiFi on and select something from the so cost-effective...

Powering a Ubiquiti POE dome camera from 24v batteries?

The POE camera will expect the network connection / POE supply to be in a very particular format (the IEEE802.3a_ Standard). You'll need to source either a specialist POE switch that can be powered by your 24V batteries and produce POE to the standard, such as this example...

V5 Firmware for M-series NVR users who urgently need to add a door station (b4 V5.03 ETA June 2024) V5.02.000 [Build 240329]

This is a 'fix' for adding a door station to an M-series NVR. If you do not need this feature, it is strongly recommended that you wait for V5.03 (ETA June 2024).

DS-2DF8225IH-AELW (Darkfighter X PTZ) restarting after dark?

Well Done, glad you've solved it. Just for long-term reference / for anybody who lands here in the future: 3 volts will not make a significant difference. It is just a carrier voltage, that allows the POE to go the long 100m distance over small cable cores without suffering significant...

Ubuntu 22.04.4 access to my NVR? [DS-7608NI-I2/8P]

Hikvision have no tools / software that works on Linux. They are even dropping some support for Macs! I guess that you are considering whether you can still use a browser running on Linux? I'm afraid we don't know. It's an outlier / we have no experience with it, nor feedback from users that I...
