Hik-Connect Hik-Connect auto rotate to landscape no longer working properly

Just to add my tuppence worth, the exact same happened to me probably around the same time as the OP above on my Samsung Note 9 Interestingly Apple seems unaffected. I came looking for a solution today and thankfully downloading the new version of Hik Connect has solved the problem. Although I...

NVR: 2 cables for net and camera access?

Thanks folks. When I initially got the set up I plugged both cameras straight into the NVR with no problems. When I got my switch I plugged both cameras into that but also ran a cat cable to a POE port in the NVR as well as a cable to the Lan port I mistakenly assumed the cameras still...

Live view my Hikvision NVR on 3 TVs?

Thanks for the info @Mart68 If I've read you right, POE will work? Does that mean I shouldn't need a power supply? What does the IR remote extender do for the system? Having looked at the TV in my bedroom I'm going to struggle to get a cable into it without breaking into the wall which I...

NVR: 2 cables for net and camera access?

I think I'm confusing myself. My router is in a cupboard upstairs. Next to it I have a POE switch where I'm going to have the cameras plugged into. The NVR will be downstairs. I want the NVR to connect to the internet for Hik Connect to work. Do I have to run 2 cat cables to the NVR. 1 for...

Live view my Hikvision NVR on 3 TVs?

Hi folks, Just in the process of laying some internal CAT cables around the house. I had planned on putting the HikVision NVR in a small cupboard next to the TV and running an HDMI splitter to the 2 bedrooms so the cameras can be viewed from there as well as the TV next to the NVR. However the...

A suitable POE switch for my IP cameras?

Thanks @Dan. I looked at the diagram of the datasheet and both branches are exactly the same so thought I might be missing something. I appreciate the PoE ports will still only be 100Mbps, as I understand it the cameras would be nowhere near this limit? Is that correct or would I be as well...

A suitable POE switch for my IP cameras?

I decided to go the 16 port route but looks like most of them are out of stock waiting for them to come back in but could be months. Would something like this do to keep my Gigabit network Hikvision DS-3E1318P-EI Smart Managed 16 Port 100 Mbps PoE Switch I wasn't sure what the "2 × gigabit...

Is there a way to protect certain parts of the video footage from being overwritten? (Hikvision NVR DS-7616NI-12-16p)

Thanks @Dan that makes perfect sense. If lowering it to 10 minutes doesn't cause any issues I'll just do his for the future. Thanks :)

Is there a way to protect certain parts of the video footage from being overwritten? (Hikvision NVR DS-7616NI-12-16p)

Thanks again @Dan Ive just checked mine and the packet time is empty. I take it if you set it to a smaller packet time, it won't utilise the full capacity of the hard drive. I'll maybe have to look at just downloading those clips I want to keep

Is there a way to protect certain parts of the video footage from being overwritten? (Hikvision NVR DS-7616NI-12-16p)

I tried following the instructions and although I put the time parameters to only a 10 second clip, the NVR returned a file at over 50 minutes long with the clip I wanted to lock buried about 15 minutes inside this. Does anyone know if that is correct as I'm just looking to purely save my video...

Is there a way to protect certain parts of the video footage from being overwritten? (Hikvision NVR DS-7616NI-12-16p)

The NVR is in my living room so I generally just access it that way direct.
