Just installed the 5.02.006 version. My alarm output count was at 7 before (with 5.02.005), and remains at 7 after (with 5.02.006). The extra counts may well be related to the camera's speaker & strobe, although in my case the alarm output counts didn't change. Color me puzzled on this one...
Is it just me ? or is the Number of Alarm Outputs incorrect ?
My NVR = 1 alarm output
Camera 1 = 1 alarm output
Camera 2 = 1 alarm output
By my count, that equals 3 alarm outputs, yet the HIK firmware suggests the count = 7.
Am I missing something ?
I too had initial problems getting Live View to work with my Chrome browser. Seems Live View does not start automatically. That said, (with firmware 5.02.005) I was able to get Live View operational.
In simple terms, just manipulate the Icons (circled in yellow, see pic) and Live View came...
I can't attest to what all they fixed in this new build. That said, Firmware Version V5.01.060 build 240202 did address the export / creation of the following files:
export a "Backup" file
export a "Diagnostic Information" file
create a "GUID" file (found under User Management --> Account...
As was previously indicated, it's not normally needed / recommended BUT there are times when it aids in troubleshooting problems in the isolated NVR POE network.
The basics:
plug your laptop into a free POE port on the NVR (i.e. NOT the LAN port)
verify the NVR served out a valid IP address to...
re: a single cable out of one of the 4 NVR ports into a switch etc......
Not a good idea for a few reasons:
you're now pushing the 2 new cameras thru a single 100Mbs port. Not ideal, but it would (probably) work if you stay at 2 cameras.
assuming this new switch is also plugged into your...
A few thoughts:
having the NVR plugged into the wrong port, doesn't help. Good you have that sorted now.
isolating your cameras and NVR on VLAN40 would seem to make sense to me. Anyone trying to access VLAN40 has to go thru your router. And your router has the opportunity to permit or deny...
From my vantage point, the problems you're encounting are 3-fold:
VLAN1 packets are currently travelling "untagged" in your network creating the mass confusion you're in.
the DHCP Server you have on "EACH" VLAN. You'll need to sort your DHCP Server(s) out once you fix your VLANs.
"untagged"...
Some observations, in no particular order, that may help (or not):
TP-Link may have a lot of capabilities I've not familiar with, so be sure to do your own research to ensure you're configuring your network using best practices. aka some of my thinking may be wrong.
Assumption..... all your...
If it helps, as of Feb 19, 2024, the USA web site is still showing --> Firmware__V4.63.025_231201.zip <---
Scroll down to Firmware Download & proceed accordingly.

Just a heads up..... I'm not familiar with TP Link's implementation of VLANs.... but I just read a TP LInk manual on it (I'm more familar with Cisco's IEEE802.1q). Seems TP Link has 3 possible implementations of VLANs..... Multi-Tenant, Port Based, or IEEE802.1q. In addition to the network...
Your unmanaged switch is not supporting IEEE 802.1Q (aka VLANs). Your switch needs to supports VLAN tags for your design to work.
None of your devices (NVR, printer, etc.) will understand VLAN tags, thus for things to work as you've designed:
a VLAN capable switch will need to be configured...
Thanks for that heads up. I'll have to look into how I might, best, get access to the NVR GUI. It'll take some creative cabling to reach my TV. Or just get a 2nd monitor. Both doable. I'll work the problem. Cheers!
I'm not a NVR UI user.... everything I do is via the Web UI, specifically Chome WEB UI. Maybe I'm missing out. Lol.
re: that NVR UI.... the "System Maintenance / Running Info / Record" page doesn't exist in my WEB UI.
An intended feature ? or defect ?
The closest thing to the NVR UI page I...
