Hi alfaclvi,
problem solved :) .
I had to wait some time till the DB with footage was rebuilt completely and now I can see all the recordings from iVMS.
BTW, I did not need to add every camera, but just the NVR, as that is identified as the econding device doing the dirty job (recording), while...
Hi @alfaclvi ,
I have mounted a SD card on one camera and set up to record also on it (Storage Schedule).
Now I have 2 footages of the same event, one on the HDD (that I can sse from the NVR webpage-->Playback) and one on the SD card (that I can see from the camera webpage-->Playback)...
Hi @alfaclvi ,
thnaks for your quick reply. Trying to understand your message. My comments bleow:
No. All cameras do not have SD card as I want to record on the HDD installed inside the NVR
If I go to NVR webpage, I can see all the recordings from the playback tab. And yes, these are the...
Dear all,
here is what I have:
- 6 Hikvision cameras (2 DS-2CD2442FWD-IW, 2 DS-2CD2042WD-I, 2 DS-2CD2542FWD-IW), all with Firmware V5.5.82 190909 (the latest)

1. Downgrade firmware of spare device from 5.5.82 to 5.0.0: no change
2. Soft reset of spare...
Let me add a few more details:
- Also the Captures and Clipping function do not work: that is: during playback I cannot capture any screenshot or any video recording footage
- In Live View mode, I cannot start any local recording or capture any screenshot
Attached some config.
What should I...
Dear,
here is the status:
- 5 Hikvision IP cameras
- 1 HD, attached via USB to a Synology NAS, accessible via network through the NAS
- Each camera is configured as device able to record to the HD (each camera has a dedicated partition on the HD): no NVR
- Each camera records properly in the...
Just for your information:
- Synology Surveillance DS 215j comes wth licences for 2 cameras only to connect to the Surveillance system. Any extra licence costs around 25€.
- Hikvision allows to connect as many camera as you want with no extra cost and provides a decent Video Management SW for...
Dear Jan,
thank you for the very detailed instruction, but this approach relies on using QuickConnect that, like HKConnect, relies on third party servers (in this case Synology's servers) to allow the connection, and this is what I would like tom avoid: giving a third party the details about my...

I would like to share my similar situation where I have some issues, too.
I have 5 R6 HikVision cameras connected in my private home local network. All of them have got the latest frmware (v. 5.5.53) installed.
In my private home local network (192.168.x.x) there is a Synology NAS. I have...
Hi Phil,
Yes, everything is controlled through iVMS-4200: Camera configuration, Storage settings, schedule and all the rest. I can access all 6 cameras but I cannot set this parameter in any of them.
And in the iVMS Manual is clearly described:
I have created 6 100Gb volumes on the Synology...
