If using PoE+ power, should I choose Cat6 AWG24 or Cat6 AWG23 cable?

Hi @bradX

The AWG23 cable has thicker conductors inside, which makes it better for handling PoE. However, this also makes the overall cable thicker, making it harder to handle and work with.

The AWG24 cable has thinner conductors and so is easier to work with and will handle PoE/PoE+ for small-scale, residential installations.

Thanks, what length of wire should I leave for the device to work properly when using POE ?

Hi @bradX

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "what length of wire should I leave".

If you are referring to how much wire you should expose when stripping the cable to terminate it, we would usually recommend roughly 1.5 inches.
