How-to: How do I find my router and PC's IP address using a Windows PC?

You wouldn’t normally use 255 as the final octet, as that’s the network broadcast address.

    License plate recognition

If it wasn’t a Windows programme I’d give it a go. A Linux version would be more interesting.

Playing back Video files from Hikvision NVR

You have the codec. VLC nightly build of V3 also worth a try if the others fail to play.

Playing back Video files from Hikvision NVR

Playing high resolution H.265 is still a bit tricky. A late VLC version on a beefy PC should stand some chance. Try other players. VS Player might work, or MPC BE. I don’t know the encoding changes they make for the plus bit and that might be causing VLC difficulties. It’s still early days for...

More an initialism than an acronym, but I take your point.

    Live View stuttering

Some of the comments suggest that is copper coated aluminium, which is not great. I've used these terminated ones up to 4M pixel and about 25m. 5m - 100m Black External Outdoor Network Ethernet Cable Cat6 100% Copper Lot | eBay

It does sound like a bottleneck. I presume you have a few cameras. Can you unplug some from the NVR and retest?

IP Camera problems connecting to Internet.

A bit of intelligence built in would be a great idea. A warning would be enough to alert the user. Can’t see that getting in the way of any advanced users either.

    MacOS HikVision's latest Mac plugins

I've tried Europe and the .com and both are wrong. To be clear, the software is incorrectly identifying itself as the older version. Checking the release notes suggests it's the 1.02.05.02 version and you can see that when you try to add a device and see Hik-Connect as an option. It might...

    Problem port forwarding Milesight camera

You didn’t update the default gateway. It’s still set as it left the factory. Give it the address of your router.

    Problem port forwarding Milesight camera

Assuming the internal IP is correct, that does look like it should work. Have you verified this works from within your network? Can you access http://192.168.1.190:8080 (presumably the web interface)? If that works, can you verify the gateway address that's set on the camera is correct.

Ok. Where is the bit where you forward those ports to the actual device?

Does the router accept the configuration change when you forward the ports?

IP Camera problems connecting to Internet.

Your network address and network gateway are on different subnets. I'd expect the gateway to be 192.168.1.1 to fit the IP address of the camera.

I tried that iVMS download and when installed it still identifies itself as 1.02.03.02 (the old version).

Hikvision DS-2CD2542 - Remote View Via Live Cams Pro iPhone App

Have a look at the Hikvision DDNS page for your IP address and use that instead. You might be better off with some other DDNS for using that app.
