Agreed, both methods have their pros and cons. A lot of wireless bridges are poorly installed because the installation instructions were not read or misunderstood. For wireless links the usual problem I see is a compromised LoS first fresnel zone followed by RF adjacent or co-channel problems...

If your garage uses the same electrical distribution panel as your house try a powerline adapter first. I’ve used these around the house between NVR and cameras with no problems. 40m to the garage will reduce throughput. Sometimes wireless bridges can add latency to networks if not planned...

I’ve done temporary fixes to carry 2 separate Ethernet ports over 1 cat5e cable and that works never with poe. What do you mean by mode A? As long as poe uses pairs 1,2 and 3,6 and the connectors are wired correctly it should work. Maybe the poe protocol checks for the other pairs before...

As everything seems to be getting its own ip address I assumed device dhcp clients were running and resolving IP etc from the AP / router DHCP server. It would be nice to know the AP and switch model numbers. David

It is not clear where your network IP addresses are coming from, I assume from the DHCP server within the AP. Check that your IPCCTV / AP network will keep the same IP addresses after a complete shutdown and switch on. On the AP, did you create any DHCP IP address reservations? David

@Wired, what about firmware updates for your cameras, NVR, etc? It’s good to plan for a network that has occasional internet connectivity. David

something to bear in mind. do you have access to the router web gui on your pc? David

looking at the router manual default web gui access is possible via ethernet or wifi, yours could be disabled. Also looks like default DHCP IP reservations are on the LAN for ethernet and wifi interfaces. double check on your router. Be very careful if you change settings, not understanding...

Router model and screenshots of the NVR's and router IP network setup would help. Are the cameras connected to the rear ports on the NVR's? David

@DASD IP addresses should be unique to devices on the same network. What model numbers are the devices involved? David

@lloydchristmas, As @sporster says we need more detail on the IPConflict, as I said earlier, post all the detail shown. This seems to be on the NVR's internal IP network which is isolated (ish) from your internet network. If you have a PoE supply or a dc supply can you disconnect the camera...

Yes, a diagram helps. Switch uplink ports not being used correctly, loop protection from spanning tree protocol…..

@sporster, All valid points, I did wonder about the SNM. Only 4 devices connected, I sense I’m missing something. I suspect the camera with dhcp disabled but the NVR camera management PnP should deal with that. David

is there any more detail on the IP conflict error? Post anything you see, even a hex error code (like 0x1a2b03.....) can be helpful. Dont forget to try the virtual-host as well. David
