Cannot delete IP camera from Hikvision NVR

An IP channel on a PoE NVR cannot be deleted as such. It remains, but can be edited to match the details of a camera connected on the LAN rather than to the PoE ports of the NVR Yes, a channel is occupied when a camera is connected to it's PoE port on the NVR, or when the channels details are...

    7616ni-i2 alarm server

There isn’t one directly on the NVR. There is an alarm server (normally) on the IP cameras themselves but this cannot be used if the cameras are connected into the POE ports of the NVR as they’re on an isolated network that cannot access your LAN. Two options: 1 - fit a Poe switch adjacent...

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

You want to move that to the right a few inches. If you’ve installed the fan the right way around it will be expelling air; the fan draws air through left to right so having it tight to a wall on the left is hindering the airflow. PS - Your toothpaste to bog roll ratio is completely out of...

VPro (Acuseek) NVR - First Impressions

The camera settings determine the video quality so changing from the M to the VPro (I) has no effect on it. In the post that you've linked, I was saying that new NVRs set all existing (plug and play) cameras to H265 (NVRs have a setting 'enable H265 for initial access' which is on by default)...

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

I don't have any NVR installed that isn't 24/7 recording. The only time I use event only recording is when I fit a camera standalone with just an SD card fitted.

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

The 40 degrees your earlier photo shows is at the upper end of what I see but not extreme. I've just checked a few of mine out of interest. The lowest are those in a loft (lowest 12 degrees, highest (my own) 18 degrees). The hottest is in a boiler cupboard - 45 degrees (those disks have been...

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

If they'll replace it?... They have to. Don't accept any of that 'your return window has closed bollocks'. Once you've had your item a month Amazon do that, but it doesn't affect your statutory rights. Just go to the help/contact section, get the option for them to phone you and insist they...

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

I had similar on one a while back. A bad sector was detected but it was working ok; as soon as I tried to initialise it, it wouldn’t and had to be replaced. I assume the one that just failed was a warranty replacement for the previous one that failed and it’s not cost you anything?

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

Try running the HDD tests from the menu. I'm not sure where they are on your model but in mine (V5 UI) they're in System Maintenance > Device Debugging > SMART Detection (if not in maintenance they will be somewhere under storage management). There's a short and long test, and they will...

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

Yes it is that 2 pin connector and the fan you’ve shown should be fine. I see the temperature alongside the HDD SMART information in the Hik Partner Pro app, I’d have to have a look to see if it’s available via the web.

    Hik-Connect New Update

I'm not sure about Dahua. When I looked at the specs of their 'equivalent' cameras I wasn't overly impressed. My gut feeling is that whatever vendors system you go for, there will be system and app features that are equally annoying.

    New firmware for G3 ColorVu 4MP Models (H13U platform) - 5.8.21_251117

New firmware has appeared for the 4MP versions of the G3 ColorVu models (platform version H13 U) It's version 5.8.21_251117. Note that this version is not suitable for the 8MP versions of the G3 ColorVu models which remain on 5.8.10 (platform version H13 I). Direct download links: Firmware...

Tablet for Hik App - Amazon Fire or Alternative

I'm just using an RTSP viewer within my dashboard app to display a single camera (front door/drive). For family I've set theirs up to run Hik-Connect both on Amazon Fire HD and on iPad without issue. However I'm adding the NVR using the local IP address rather than through the cloud.

    HDD Exception/ Camera Offline?

I tagged you in a post several months ago (search 'return of the fans'). That NVR without a fan has a known issue with HDD failure. I'd recommend you take the NVR and HDD back where you got it (YESSS) and see if they'll fix it under warranty (I take it they gave you a new HDD when the first...

    Hikvision vs Unifi

2.8mm is what you'll likely need for the front door if you're wanting to see someone stood at the door. Those wouldn't need to be 2.8mm. A 4mm gives a 95 degree horizontal field of view so will capture everything. Perhaps consider a vari-focal there if you're wanting to see something larger...

    Hikvision vs Unifi

That's just lens perspective. Wide angle lenses will make objects appear smaller and more distant to one another whereas a narrower angle will compress that perspective. If you're installing a camera and want to see a person fully when stood at your door you need a 2.8mm lens. The side effect...

    Hikvision vs Unifi

When you're so close to the front door you shouldn't need a vari-focal; it's the one time I'd usually use a 2.8mm over a 4mm. One thing regarding your installation...If you're mounting directly to brickwork like you have there, remove and throw away the big ugly compression gland from the...

    Hikvision vs Unifi

I literally get nothing other than live view and basic playback - no notifications are possible as events aren't supported from ONVIF cameras without an AI Port. Live View/Playback are the same - you click on the camera to view it live, to view playback you scroll back through the timeline on...

    Hikvision vs Unifi

I've not used them, though I have considered them a few times. It's only the most recent G6 Pro models that have gone to the larger 1/1.2" sensor. As for the 'optical zoom' they're just a motorised varifocal lens as you can get on some Hikvision models. The app (Protect) looks fairly basic...

    Hikvision cameras 12/16 MP

The low light performance will be the trade off for the higher resolution. It's a 1/1.8" sensor and f1.6 aperture. A couple of other things that jump out from the product data: Set to 16MP it's limited to 12.5 FPS Set to 12MP it's limited to 20 FPS If you want 25 FPS, you'll need to drop it...
