    G3 ColorVu Cameras - First Impressions/Review

You can run the camera in ColorVu mode without any light if you don't mind having the white LED light in use, or use a longer exposure time. I prefer to set a maximum exposure time of 1/50 sec to keep motion blur down. I'll set them in hybrid mode so that they switch into monochrome if theres...

    G3 ColorVu Cameras - First Impressions/Review

Monochrome images with IR are very good. It's a good question regarding pure Colour/Mono cameras vs ColorVu models. Currently for a 4 megapixel turret you would probably be choosing between the DS-2CD2347G3-LI2UY (3rd Gen ColorVu Hybrid Light) and the DS-2346G2H-IU (H usually stands for Hybrid...

VPro (Acuseek) NVR - First Impressions

Had another issue yesterday. An unexplainable failure of the AcuSearch function. AcuSeek continued to work normally but on local UI, web UI and Hik-Connect AcuSearch would fail to find any targets to search despite there being people and vehicles in view. The photos below show the setup with...

VPro (Acuseek) NVR - First Impressions

Just had a 'case closed' e mail from Hikvision. It seems to be working better but with a lot of inconsistency; sometimes 12 seconds, other times under 3 seconds.

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

I'm not so sure I imagined this now. I'm just following up on an installation I completed yesterday. I always review daytime and nighttime images following an installation to check image quality, ensure events set up are triggering and to snapshot the day and night camera views. I do this in...

VPro (Acuseek) NVR - First Impressions

Fine, its never froze again. From M series to I-Vpro with its reduced bandwidth (192 Mbps on my 16 channel model), no performance issues. I've got: 7 x 8MP cameras running at 25FPS, H264 CBR 16 Mbps 2 x 4MP cameras running at 25FPS, H264 CBR 8 Mbps 1 x (crappy EZVIZ) 2MP WiFi camera running...

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

Playback is still broke for me. I can scroll and pick a point on the timeline but then after moving it a few times, the playback keeps snapping back to the previous time selection rather than the newly selected position. Hopeless.

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

6.10.822 out. ‘Fixes some bugs’ allegedly.

    DS-7608NXI-K1/8P

There’s a beautiful DS-7616NI-M2/16P on eBay currently being sold by user ‘fireblade954rr2’ I wonder who that could be……:-) As @johnfitzy says - the 7604 would be ill advised for 3 x 8MP, the 7608 is fine bandwidth wise, but still not great for playing back multiple 8MP streams (the K2 is a bit...

    Disabling 2nd HDD

You might need to reconnect it temporarily. Tick the box at the left hand side, click the icon beneath 'operation' to unload the disk and then you should be able to delete it. If you can't do that now you'll need to put the faulty disk or another disk in briefly. Only when you've unloaded and...

Hik connect - iOS - Using too much storage

I’ve never seen anything like that before but TBH I rarely, if ever, check the storage.

Hik connect - iOS - Using too much storage

Strange mine is only using 550MB. Try saving those pictures and videos to files/photos on iOS and delete them from the apps personal album. Then check to see whether the storage figure for the app goes down to a reasonable level.

Hikvision controller on storing 3 days of rvents

It should be recording for longer than 3 days. There are two things I can think of to check: 1 - In Settings > Storage > Advanced (on the connected monitor), there's an expiry setting. Its should be set to 0. If it's set to 3 days then the video will be overwritten after 3 days regardless...

K1(D) NVRs - Return of the fans

I spoke to a supplier this morning regarding a back order on DS-7604NXI-K1/4P(D) NVRs. The single HDD models of these NVRs were supplied without the 40mm case fan. I've been told that due to a higher than expected number of failures, they are opening all units on arrival and retrofitting the...

    HDD maybe dead?

Ideally, yes. By default the camera channels are set up as 'plug and play'. If you put them back in a different order, the NVR will see the camera as a new device on the channel and overwrite the programming. It'll still work but you may have to redo the settings on each camera to get them...

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

Another strange bug I see that's been there for some time... If you go into the Notifications section, selecting each one in turn going down the list in order, selecting one should expand it to a larger view. After going down the list doing a few, it'll stop working and I find that it's...

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

Yeah you might be right. It's not something I use but I could've swore I saw it working in the app.... I'm still seeing issues in Hik-Connect playback in .821 though. While trying to search for something that was dumped in the road overnight, when I drag the timeline, it goes initially to the...

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

I notice this morning that there had been another minor update to 6.10.821 with 'fix timeline slider not playing issue'. If you dragged the timeline, it wouldn't play previously, this is now fixed. Did Hik-Connect previously allow high speed scrubbing on the timeline, or did I imagine it? It...

    Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

This is exactly what I'm seeing I usually check the App Store frequently. Hik support asked me to update and there had been another update (.820) straight after I contacted them. It didn't help. I've detailed everything I've tried on the VPro thread (including proving its NVR specific by...

    Connecting to distant location

Results with Powerline can be equally problematic. Even when the devices are connected to circuits on the same distribution board, speed and reliability is best when they're on the same circuit and plugged in directly to the outlet (I've known them not work at all when connected via an...
