Hello again!!! Jan Janowski from Western North Carolina... Another question for you on HikVision DS2CD2042WD-1 cameras... I have two that are outside POE "Critter Cameras" and Save Motion Pics and Videos on Sysnology NAS... I just bought a third one used.... and after I install V5.5.53...

I have2 HiKvision camera’s connected to a POE Inserter switch, one non-Inserter switch output feeds another switch, and all gear can see both cameras fine. Both switches are gigabit rated. So I’d say yes.

Thanks much for that info... The POE connection I'm using is a Trendnet TPG-TG44e Gigabit 8 port switch, 4 of which are POE ports... It still has 2 POE ports left..... that I used as a sub switch off my main 24 port Gigabit swtich... It was the most cost effective solution... Now that I know...

I have a different HiKvision camera, but I have also seen what you describe. It’s as if some resolutions zoom in a bit. If you are familiar with broadcast devices this camera will seem to be doing something ‘different’ for lack of a better answer!! I saved pics of each of 4 resolutions this...

Update on this thread..... Again, Two camera's: DS-2CD2042WD-1 which is a Pic's only ftp, not video, but it does stream... Both camera's have been changed to 2688x1520 at 20fps. Pics are ftp'ing to one folder on Sysnology NAS, and Surveillance Station on NAS Motion Detects the two streams...

Today I changed both cameras to 2688x1520/20, from 1080P/30 Haven't found a way to get to 30FPS yet.... I think I hit the limit of the camera....
