Several cameras with injectors behind a standard switch - should this work or not?

I have2 HiKvision camera’s connected to a POE Inserter switch, one non-Inserter switch output feeds another switch, and all gear can see both cameras fine. Both switches are gigabit rated. So I’d say yes.

    Finally added 2nd camera outside

Thanks much for that info... The POE connection I'm using is a Trendnet TPG-TG44e Gigabit 8 port switch, 4 of which are POE ports... It still has 2 POE ports left..... that I used as a sub switch off my main 24 port Gigabit swtich... It was the most cost effective solution... Now that I know...

    Finally added 2nd camera outside

Greetings from USA. Though I had camera working POE for a couple months on a desk in the house, there were enough issues (Winter, primarily) to avoid the install. Camera is ~200’ away, through two patchfields. Prior to permanent install I ran it hand held outside garage, verifying that it would...

    Changing Camera Resolution Query

I have a different HiKvision camera, but I have also seen what you describe. It’s as if some resolutions zoom in a bit. If you are familiar with broadcast devices this camera will seem to be doing something ‘different’ for lack of a better answer!! I saved pics of each of 4 resolutions this...

Question on changing camera resolutions on the stream

I actually have two a DS215J which is good, but CPU Processing And Ram is weak. It did one camera ok, but I decided to upgrade before adding a second camera in SS. Other is a DS718+ with a 4GB ram upgrade. I really like that one!!! With 5 cameras ftp’ing pics, and SS creating video out of two...

Question on changing camera resolutions on the stream

Ok... Seeing that no-one posted on how to increase fps rate.... I'm assuming I've hit the limit on frame rate... Today I did some captures of videos and still pics that seem to negate my previous post(s)! I did 4 picture and 4 video captures, from the IP connect Admin Login from HiKvision...

    Hikvision image problems

We have a Lot of Fog here in the Smokey Mountains of Western North Carolina... I bet your house is off to the right in pix.... Correct? We have same thing... The fog is coming from the left and the house is blocking some of it... I went round and round with this.... Here's how I figured out...

Question on changing camera resolutions on the stream

I'm laughing... It was set correctly... I leaned back in chair and into view of camera: tripped the camera's mot det.... (Now I know that works!) When I opened DS Cam, there was a Record Light staring me in the face... And I took that as 'perpetual recording'.... Which I inadvertently did on...

Question on changing camera resolutions on the stream

So far, So Good... New DS-2CD2042WD-1 First, Checked the Reset button... It's fine...(No need to dis-assemble -- Like the last one I bought! :)! ) It came with older firmware, and that was upgraded to 5.5.53 which in US is Latest/Last... Then I started breathing normally..... !!!! With IP and...

Question on changing camera resolutions on the stream

I’m just letting my mind wander..... Presently stream is set for 1080p, and pix only camera saves to video with settings via Sysnology Surveillance Station, not camera. Has anyone ever changed data rate to highest (3K in my Hik camera model) on the stream. What/how would SS react to that??? I...
