I have the DS-7616NI-M2 (minus the /16P) and that same G5 Hybrid camera (amongst others). Line / intrusion detection is done in that camera. Stay with the G5 cameras and all the line / intrusion can / is done in the camera. My thinking is you're not losing anything with the M series NVR...

Just be aware this config "might" give you issues with "other" DHCP devices in your network. I'm thinking you might have 2 functioning DHCP Servers in your network.... in which case, it's a race to see which DHCP Server responds first.... and then it's a guess on what IP address you might get...

Just installed the 5.02.006 version. My alarm output count was at 7 before (with 5.02.005), and remains at 7 after (with 5.02.006). The extra counts may well be related to the camera's speaker & strobe, although in my case the alarm output counts didn't change. Color me puzzled on this one...
