MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Put it this way, from the reolinks I tested I found a 4MP Hikvision does not equal a 4MP Reolink, the Hikvision feels better overall picture quality. But I haven't tested new reolinks

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Agreed on the entry level uniview ptz logic, it's dumb. And yes I found most of these "smart home" entry user brands, Reolink, Ankie, Sonoff, Xiaomi, etc. Have brilliant software just terrible lens and sensor built quality. I really just wish Hikvision will stop making cameras for 1 year and...

Green portion on Hik-Connect & Main Stream not showing on NVR view

I had the green on v4.6x with and without encryption enabled. Downgraded back to v4.51 and now it works perfectly, stream encryption is enabled. I use Gen2 4MP cameras

Green portion on Hik-Connect & Main Stream not showing on NVR view

Downgrade your firmware from NVR Firmware Version V4.61.000 build 220507 TO V4.51 and it will fix it. I had the exact same issue ( Green part and main stream resolution not working correctly. )

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Rarely am I ever in the physical presence of the NVR, clients are remote & sites are guarded, so the NVR is usually locked up.

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

I'll wait a year and upgrade when all the guinea pigs are done spending time fixing issues introduced by the firmware. Learned my lesson here, V4.51 will be my default until this time next year. Have a little let's break the system once a year kind of event. Lots to learn from Uniview &...

    EZIVIZ Wireless cameras

Unfortunately, reading number plates is trickly, because of reflection & motion, you need a camera with a very high shutter speed to compensate. That is why generally LPR cameras are specialized use case cameras, it's give and take, can't have both, unless you have a VERY expensive 8MP cameras

What is ‘I Frame Interval’ and what should it be set to please?

Thank you for this explanation, explained even better than the Wikipedia article.

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Thank you for that, I learned the following things: Hikvison is really cool, but also really leaving a lot to be desired ( in terms of consistency ) Don't upgrade the firmware, unless you are absolutely certain it's needed. ( & Do not use the latest versions, ever. ) There are massive...

Can you update that link for me, I think I found it, but it was under the G3 folder and I don't think that is a G3 camera? B-R-E8-0 Refering now to; DS-2CD2121G0-I

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Actually, I think I am going to downgrade back to V4.51, because I have green artifacts now as well. (Hikvision NVR green screen issue) What a mess. But also lesson learned.

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Do you know what the I Frame Interval setting should be? ( this is a new setting that was not visible under V4.51 ) I read ( obviously missing the core concept here to figure it out myself ), some of the arguments say half the frame rate, others say equal to the frame rate and I raid some say...

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Lol, I went and installed the previous firmware now the version before .61, so the 4.60 one Did not realize a firmware update will practically reset the thing, so I'm on site now setting it up again. Eish. So we learn.

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Very odd, because that is how I understand it and exactly what I did ( I never actually logged into any camera yet ), so something is overriding those settings for whatever reason, it happened on V4.51.200 as well, kind of was my motivation to upgrade the firmware, I know live playback on Apple...

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Question If I set the Max Bit rate for the substream in the NVR, will that stick? Somehow every now and again, the live view on the Monitor gets fussy and then I notice the Max Bit Rate went back to 32 instead of 512 that I saved it to. Can it be the cameras reset it? ( Ignoring the NVRs...

MacOS Hikvision NVR Browser Support on MacOS?

Thank you for that reply. I think it might have been a combination of old cookies and browser data because it works kn Mozilla now, as in I can access the NVR. The camera feed / live view / vca screen doesn't work still, but it's Okey, I know apple browser support is a long shot.
