Sorry to drag up and old thread.
Am I right to understand that the benefit of using an AcuSense NVR is the ability to use up to 4 non-AcuSense cameras ?
And if we have a system that requires 8 AcuSense-enabled cameras, then I’m potentially better off just replacing the cameras (with AcuSense...
Hi all,
Sorry to ask for more help but just noticed that some of the images from newly installed cameras are struggling with fog at night. See the attached images. The fog looks like erratic rain on the cctv, and keeps triggering the video tamper alarm.
Also, the strange thing is that two...
Was just hoping to be able to change some of the encoding settings to see if it would help resolve some of the playback issues that we’ve been experiencing.
Thanks Phil. In the HikConnect app there are some instructions suggesting the UPnP box has to be ticked in the NAT tab of the NVR’s network settings. Could that be why I can’t access the remote configuration ?
I recently installed a new Hik NVR and 4 cameras. Having exactly the same issue. Playback is fine when I try to view night time footage but I can’t access daytime footage from the Hik Connect app.
Really weird and strikes me that it shouldn’t be an internet bandwidth issue, as I can stream...
hi. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I seem to be having the same issue (ie. no ability to playback between sunrise and sunset) but this is will an all new camera/NVR set up.
Do I just need to go into the camera configuration and check what the settings are for recording ?
** Update **
So it seems the issue was a bad Ethernet cable between the router and the NVR’s LAN port!
So remote view now works perfectly!
Just need to figure out how to enable remote configuration and motion notifications now.
Thanks for the replies above.
** Update **
I’ve run a speedtest on the internet connection: results attached.
Have also managed to change the settings for the substream to 6fps and the lowest resolution (320x240).
Now when I connect to the cameras, I do get a extra second or two of live streaming but then the stream...
Update: realised there is a DDNS setting on the NVR itself. Do I need to enable this, even if I’m already connecting via HikConnect ?
The DDNS settings on the NVR don’t allow me to select HikConnect as an option. Only No-Ip, DynDns, etc.
Thanks Stewart. Yes, probably more like 4Mbps which is much less than the 32!
Believe everything is up to date, the equipment was all newly purchased. NVR showing as firmware being up-to-date. I need to check the cameras themselves.
Hi again. I can’t seem to find that page in the settings ? I tried using the NVR’s operating system to find it but can’t see where that page is. The system is running “NVR 4.0” if that helps?
Or was your screenshot from the camera’s specific settings ? I can’t find such a page from the NVR...
Hi,
I’m trying to remote configure a Hik NVR. In the HikConnect app, when I select “automatic” for the DDNS configuration, I just get a “Connection Timeout” error.
Any thoughts ? I thought that port opening was not required with HikConnect ?
Any guidance appreciated. Have done a search...
Yes. HikConnect showing online. I can access the streams on the app, but immediately shows the “network unstable” error.
Will change the settings on my NVR substream as you suggest. Not sure that the default setting would be ?
Would H265 not be better ?
Yes, installed and set it all up as Admin.
Have tried to change settings by remote but the HikConnect remote configuration option just keeps timing out.
