I was thinking of a standalone android tv box (or similar) that is wired (via hdmi) to the tv nad ethernet to the network. My hope was that I could run Hikconnect through this to the tv? Just like viewing on my tablet or phone? Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

Thank you. What about the cameras for front and back - using the width mentioned above? I am unsure if I would need a wider lens etc? I will need to look more at what I would miss out by using the Synology over the Hikvision NRV. I will google to see if there is a comparison anywhere.
