Hi If it's any help I had this error message too. In the NVR I had give the User settings for "Local: Live View". Even though I was on the same LAN I had to also enable "Rrmote: Live View". This fixed the issue.

I'm not with the equipment at the moment, but I guess I'll have to try and log in to the camera and see if that detects anything. On the screen the bell icon within the picture comes up and a further distance, but the alarm icon on the screen from the nvr doesn't trigger until closer.
