yep, all recordings and config will be lost (don't ask me how I know!) You can backup the config easy enough and then restore it, but you won't get your recordings back

Understand - but don't forget, the M series came with Version 4, and it's been very stable on version 4 - we are talking about an enhancement to what we had purchased already. I still think the device is worth its money, but not when running v5 yet!

thanks - I don't have any cameras directly connected to the NVR, they are on various POE switches

yeah, I tried rebooting after, still the same, it was a clip that had recorded on the new firmware, don't know if that makes a difference (I wasn't playing back anything from earlier today if you get me)

Ive given up and regressed back to 4.63.025 P33d off with the few things I found already, the remote playback has killed it for me. If anyone is thinking of upgrading, my advice is to backup your current system and make sure you still have your old firmware available before you do in case you...

Next issue - remote playback on iPad Hik Connect gets an alert as normal, click on the alert to playback the video and the content is very choppy, not watchable.

Found the PTZ stuff, that's a bit convoluted. From the live view grid (not sure about anyone else, but my live view runs in full screen so no options on the left hand side You double click the camera you want to view to make it full screen Then you have to right click, and exit full screen so...

Nice, ive just upgraded mine too. First couple of things I picked up (these are direct on the device, not the web ui but the device UI) When in live view, and you have all your cameras in a grid, when you mouse over any of the cameras, a pair of boxes come up over the camera with it's name...

I did quite a bit of testing on this, and found G722.1 to be the best overall quality. The others caused some loss to the higher frequencies. Try for yourself, but for me, it was the better codec EDIT - just did some reading about AAC, in theory is should be a better codec as more bandwidth...

quick update - ive recently installed the latest Mac OS 14 Sonoma, and now this app seems totally broken :( it will occasionally open ok, but clicking a video file just causes the app to quit

yes vca won't show - you can turn those off on vsplayer by right clicking on the playing video, in the menu options select Image Control > VCA Overlay Info, and then select Close All
