Is there a thread which might explain how to view the rotated (portrait) live feed correctly in the Hik-connect app?
I've got it displayed perfectly on the monitor connected to the NVR and in ivms-4200.
In the web interface of the individual cameras the proportion is correct.
The saved...
Yes, that's why I had to get it direct from Hikvision SA, and they told me this model is on it's way out and thus not listed. Sadly I only bought it in April. :-(
Ah, I see! I was asked to set it to monitoring here when I was setting up rotate mode.
It seems that if I change from monitoring to Smart Event, rotate mode is reset to 0.
So I'm not sure how to proceed.
Please don't let me take any more of your time!
I just checked the camera via the web interface, as they've told me this model supports Smart Events. The only one available is Scene change, so it looks like I'm not going to be able to set up line or perimeter crossing in any case.
This is...
Thanks for weighing in, I appreciate it.
I did enable "Save camera VCA data, and it hasn't changed anything. I think it's something weird about this particular firmware/software config which is designed specifically to derange any sane person.
As you point out, the events are being recorded...
Thanks Dan. Having heard from my local Hikvision tech support that this model does not support Smart Events, and having looked at the manual online which states that Perimeter protection is only supported on certain models (not specified), I think your advice to use a different NVR would be the...
I asked them this:
I'm unable to use Perimeter Protection or Other Events with my NVR. Can you confirm whether this model supports those features? Only "Normal Events" - (motion detection) - and Face Recognition can be enabled. The dropdown is greyed out and says "No available channel for...
Here is the response from Hikvision:
Good day, thank you for contacting Hikvision. This model NVR does not support Smart events, if you have cameras that support the smart events you will need to enable the events directly on the cameras.
No, I used the web interface on a Windows VM.
Like I said earlier, when I reset to factory settings, it kept my camera names and settings, so I'm not confident that the NVR was reset properly.
Still waiting for Hikvision support to wake up and reply to me. They were quite responsive last...
I have been working on the NVR. Absolutely no way to choose a camera or enable anything under perimeter protection.
Yes, the cameras are connected to the POE ports on the NVR.
I'm going to see what Hikvision says in the morning...
I'm unable to select a camera at all. Not on the NVR interface or ivms-4200. I haven't fired up my Windows VM, because I know it will be the same issue.
I suspect it's a limitation of this NVR.
I will try to get hold of Hikvision tech again and see if that's the case.
I'm very confused...
Yes, but the dropdown is greyed out, and it's impossible to toggle the "Enable" button.
Normal events and Face Recognition can be enabled, and the camera dropdown is active.
Perimeter Protection and Other Events both don't have the option to choose a camera, and the Enable button can't be toggled.
Happy days, David!
I've upgraded the firmware on the router for good measure, but I think the IP reservation was the missing trick.
NVR is happy now with.104 and should remain content for the foreseeable future!
Thanks for sticking with me and helping me to find a resolution.
I'm most...
I've restored to factory defaults...although weirdly all my camera configs, names and OSD settings were retained. So I don't know how much of a reset it really was.
The motion detection situation is the same on the NVR interface - (no events found in quick playback, no red markers for motion...
