hi, i have done a few hikvision installations now and have no problem with the hikvision app and the programming with a monitor and mouse
but when we access the nvr via the LAN the live streams dont come up on the window matrix, i start playing with the main stream and sub stream and all of a sudden the cameras start streaming
is there a setting im getting wrong? to solve the problem on one system I set up auto start on live view
CAN YOU HELP PLEASE

Hi @julian toon

When you say you are accessing "via the LAN" do you mean you are accessing with a browser on a PC that is on the same network as the cameras or are you accessing with a VMS software like iVMS-4200 on a local network PC?

If you are accessing with a browser can you confirm which browser you are accessing with?

Which NVR model do you have and do you know what firmware that NVR is running?

yes on the same local area network via a chrome browser windows 10 .ip address of the nvr is 192.168.1.56
its a 16 port nvr,ds-7616NI-12/16P 16 CHANNEL NVR
NOT SURE WHAT FIRMWARE
so you got to the ip address login and start live feed ,and the video streams dont come up and you play with the main stream and sub stream and they eventually all come up
so im missing a correct setting some where
has 8 cameras

Thanks @julian toon

When you go to the NVR configuration menu can you see a local menu in the menu list on the left?

If you can, you should see an "auto start live view" option within that local menu

If you can't see the local menu, can you please go to the System menu and confirm the current firmware version of the NVR?

Just to add to Dan's comment...
You will need to use Edge on your PC to connect to your NVR, and then load the page in Internet Explorer mode to see the "Local" menu:

should i just upgrade to the latest firmware first

Hi @julian toon

If you can't see the local menu as @Kyle shows it above then yes you will need to update the NVR firmware, can you please go to the system menu and confirm the firmware version you are currently running? (if you are many versions behind we may need to recommend that you upgrade the firmware in steps)
