Hello

I have a DS-2DE4A225IWG-E PTZ that has been running for over a year now with no issues but I recently noticed that the autotracking suddenly stopped working.

I have the tracking linkage enabled under vca>smart event>intrusion detection and can’t see anything that should be on switched off.

I’m not sure when it stopped working but it used to track every car or person that entered the frame before returning to the home position once it loses site of the target for a few seconds. The pan, tilt and zoom functions are all working fine when manually tracking.

The ptz is on the newest available firmware (V5.8.0_231109) and no settings were changed after it was set up back in November 2024.

Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Unrelated : I noticed that a newer model (DS-2DE4A225IWG1-E) was recently released but I can’t see any important difference when comparing the spec sheets using hikvisions comparison tool, has anyone upgraded to this model and if so could you provide some feedback?

Hi... I have a similar DS-2DE4A425IWG-E... same model but 4MP instead of 2MP, same series, same firmware...

Looks like you have everything set correctly... mine stops auto-tracking once every few months or so... A simple reboot gets it working again... mine is connected to a Hik NVR, I reboot everything and that works... in my case, I'm not sure if it is the camera or the NVR that causes this...

I rebooted my nvr last night but the camera still isn’t tracking anything, the camera is still noticing intrusions as evident in the Hikconnect app as clips with vehicles or people are saved as intrusion detection instead of motion detection but the camera doesn’t move at all during those events.

My nvr doesn’t have poe so the cameras are powered by a separate poe switch, could turning the poe switch off and on again fix the issue?
