Hi everyone,
I am currently running a market stall selling vintage vinyl records and audio equipment.
I have been having thefts occuring and I want to install two security cameras to watch customers as they browse.
I do not have access to electricity on the market stall.
I only have access to the internet through a mobile hotspot on my android phone that I use to power my laptop as I look up and research vinyl records through the day.
Are there battery operated cameras I can use?
Is there a way to observe the cameras on my/a laptop?
I do not need to have recording ability really as I am present all the time during opening hours.
The market has night time security in place already.
I would be most grateful for any advice or help in this, so far I am totally confused and hitting brick walls everywhere.
I am beginning to think that there is nothing out there for this situation.
many thanks to you all
Dave

Dave,
What do other stall owners do?
Have you any budget in mind?
You cannot watch everything at the same time, distraction is a useful tool to the shop lifter. I'd use a system that recorded onto an sdcard in the camera. Give some thought to CCTV recording in a public space.

To be honest most of the other stalls sell antique/vintage furniture and paintings and larger china, ceramics and art objects.
They dont seem to have many thefts or if they do its not enough for them to invest in cameras.
If the camera has a card in it then that would be useful. My main problem is the lack of electricity on the stalls and
the lack of an internet connection except by way of a mobile hotspot.

These days this is not a problem, with the right power pack and equipment you can easily provide power for the whole trading day. Maybe a couple of days. When I used to travel a lot my Lion power pack would easily run my wifi hotspot / phone / tablet.
