I've noticed that there are a few new PTRZ's on the UK market - including the 8mp DS-2CD2787G2H-LIPTRZS2U/SL/B - also available in white, and some 4mp equivalents.

I've been looking at the spec sheets - but they are very sparse on the PTZ info - as in is the PTRZ speed configurable - and can patrols be programmed in.

Usually on my existing NVR - I can tell it that if for example, there's a line crossing on camera 1 - I can ask it to call preset 3 on camera 5 (ie for the ptz to look in a particular direction).

I'd be interested to know more about the PTZ capabilities as above as this is a nice small footprint camera more suited for domestic use. Does anyone have any additional info to the basic spec listed in the official sheets?

They're not really intended to be used as PTZs as such; the function is more a tool for setup enabling the cameras to be adjusted without opening it or occasional repositioning. If you have a mooch on the the DVS website and click on Support > How to Videos, Dave did a video review not too long ago (just scroll down a bit).

Off topic - I was on the DVS site yesterday and was looking at the video on the 12/24V PoE switch. In that he has one of the new ColorVu 3's. Although he doesn't show it in use the video is worth watching just to see his reaction as to how good he thinks the new cameras are - 'game changing'....

That's useful - was hoping it was going to be a small form factor PTZ with regular presets and patrols - looks like it's not going to be up to that.... I got all excited for a moment there....
