Factory reset ds-2cd2232-i5

Hi there,

I have a DS-7716NI-K4 / 16P NVR with a ds-2cd2232-i5 and it keeps asking to me to check the username and password on the screen.

I have enabled virtual hosts to try and connect to the camera via my PC but gives me a page can not be displayed message.

I have also tried plugging the camera into a PoE switch on my main network but the camera is not detected on the network even though the camera is powered on.

I have taken the camera apart and can't find the reset button to hard reset.

Any ideas how to proceed forward please?

Hi @epipen

This model is old enough that it might potentially still use the old default camera passwords, have you tried going to the NVR camera management menu and tried setting the camera's password to either 12345 or 123456?

If these passwords don't work and the camera is also not being detected when connected to the local network, this might suggest that there is a fault with the camera and the simplest solution would be to purchase an updated replacement camera - DS-2CD2T46G2-2I - which will give you much better images than the old camera.
