GeoVision prompts you to check for firmware updates

GeoVision have recently sent a mass email prompting all customers to check that their GeoVision devices are using the latest available firmware:

"As the evolution of the network environment has been an ongoing process, so has the betterment of related security policies and measures — an issue GeoVision devotes uncompromising efforts to.

GeoVision has recently released a series of firmware upgrades as an enactment to address certain network security vulnerabilities that have been identified. GeoVision urges all users to immediately upgrade devices that are exposed to the Internet to eliminate the risk of potential security breach."

UPDATE 9th February 2018

There are known (and now fully disclosed) IT / hacking / backdoor access vulnerabilities with past versions of GeoVision's device firmware.

GeoVision have reacted to notifications and provided firmware updates in reaction to these issues.

Please update your GeoVision device firmware as soon as possible.
