Hard drive not showing

Hi All
Hope you can help I removed the CCTV from my home to upgrade, and all was working fine, my son has installed it at his home and there is no hard drive showing. fitted another hard drive and the same thing nothing, so after trying 3 drives and still no drive showing he fitted a solid state drive from his sons PC and that works fine. can anyone help or have any info on why this would be.

I've not come across this before.
My guess would be that the SSD drive requires less power, and that perhaps your recorder's power supply is weak/failing.

It was working fine maybe its the power supply as you say ? I have sent for a laptop hard drive to try that
