Resetting the password on our standalone Hikvision DVR?

Hi we have a ds-7216
It’s for our underground car parking security, it’s a local box with no connectivity and none available.
Been in touch with support who said about sadp but it means disconnecting all feeds to box and taking it to a router with connectivity.
Is there anyway round this? Seen hacks and scripts but the box isn’t connected to the internet so they all don’t work and the password reset tools that are available seem to require the date on the sadp tool not the date on the screen/of recording zones?

Hi @Sarah

Can you please provide the full model number for the DVR you have?
What exactly is your issue? Are you trying to reset the DVR password?

Yes don’t know the passwords, and as above the box doesn’t have any connectivity and all the suggested resolutions seem to rely on a internet connection

Thanks @Sarah

There is a way to reset the password without it being connected to the network, you can use GUID file (see the video in this forum thread) but the issue you will probably have is that to use this method you need to have already exported the GUID file when you set or last changed the password, you can then use that old GUID file to reset the password.

Unfortunately, if you haven't previously exported a GUID file, the only methods available to reset the password require a network connection.

That’s disappointing, how easy is it to remove all the feeds? They don’t just pull out?
I could get a tipex pen and label so they don’t get mixed up? Does that even matter when putting it back?

Hi @Sarah

Those cables are using standard Coaxial connectors so you just need to twist the connector from its locked to unlocked position and then you should be able to pull the connectors out.

We have minimal hands-on experience with analog/COAX cameras & DVRs so I'm not sure whether a cable going to a specific port is important or not, to be safe we would recommend labelling the cables as you remove them so you can reconnect them to the same ports.

@Sarah
The rear sockets should be numbered. Label the BNC cables before removing them.
