Hello,

I have hikvision nvr DS-7608NXI-K2/8P connected directly to two 8mp DS-2CD2T87G2-LSU/SL and one 4mp DS-2CD1043G0-I cameras, I was able to connect a siren using relay module to protect the cameras from theft by configuring video tampering and loss events but when the nvr is restarted or recovering from power cutoff it throws 3 video loss one for each camera because the cameras takes a longer time to boot up after nvr provides power to them which results to siren annoying sound.

Is there a solution for this issue?

Not really. I guess it works as it should. Only possible scenario would be a new firmware that delays this notification. But How can a program know that reboot wasn't actually intentional?

I agree with you, if there's some delay field to configure how long the NVR should wait after startup to throw the exception it would solve the issue.

Answering your questions from programming perspective, when the system reboots there should be a flag named for example "userReboot" which will be set to true when the user clicked reboot, and after the NVR starts up it will check this value if it's true then it's intentional reboot otherwise it's power cutoff.

Yea i agree. I believe they did not take into account that nvr boots before camera while its poe nvr. I believe thats not the case when nvr its not poe version. Hence nvr reboot wouldnt restart cameras as well, just nvr itself. You just found out another yet interesting difference between non poe and poe nvrs

do you have any idea if I emailed Hikvision support will they handle this case?

someone suggested to connect the cameras to poe switch or directly to 12v to not to allow them to bootup before the nvr but I don't want to buy extra device and there's no power outlet near the 3 cameras.

I tried to play with the delay which is labeled "Dwell" in the NVR software but It just for how long the alarm will be on, and for alarm output pulse field it's not visible in the NVR but it is in the web UI and it does nothing.

I work in a company which is one of the national distributers. Asking for a change in firmware will result in 2 scenarios.

Scenario 1: the change has good impact for others and if its used by majority they will take into consideration for next update

Scenario 2: here is your MOQ(minimum order quantity) and you will receive customized firmware upon order.

I highly doubt hikvision would even respond to end users. You are not their targeted audience. But what costs you to write them up, there are always slim chances they might actually do something regarding that problem.

I would go with poe switch. 8 port shouldnt cost more than 60 bucks
