I'm trying to get my parents cameras talking to their app on their tablets working again. They worked last week but they had to get a new modem (new connection) from their ISP and I can't work out where to update the wifi information in settings on the Hilook box. I've googled endlessly trying various things, even called Hilook technical support who wouldn't help because "it would be too technical for me". I assume it's a setting in Platform Access? I really appreciate any help given. My Dad is a cranky man without checking his cameras on his tablet!

Hi @Aurora

It's quite common that when you change modems or ISPs your default local IP range can change, e.g. before changing your modem the range might have been 192.168.1.xxx and after changing it your range might now be something like 192.168.5.xxx

If the range changes, this can knock the cameras offline because they are likely fixed to IP addresses on the old network.

If you install the Hikvision SADP Tool on a PC on the same network as the cameras, you can use this to detect the cameras on the network.

If the cameras are detected, you can select each camera, click enable DHCP, enter the camera's admin password, and click modify.

Once DHCP is enabled on each camera, it should change the camera's IP address to one on the new network range and the cameras should come back online. If the IP address does successfully change, you can disable DHCP again to keep the camera fixed to that new address.
