How to turn off multiple time sync sources?

Hello,

When setting up the NVR (v5), I used Google time servers to sync the time but then it stopped working so I tried the manual way which was fine. But then I changed it again to pool.ntp.org and everything was working well until I got the attached message saying that there is a conflict and I needed to turn off one of the sources.

How do I remove the manual time sync?

Many thanks in advanced.

It shouldn't make a difference. The Manual Time Sync is a one moment thing and you can see it's not current Shen you look at it's timestamp. I occasionally see 'Time Sync Exceptions' reported from some of my sites, these will occur if an NVR fails to connect to the specified NTP server when it tries. This could also happen with Hik-Connect Time Sync.

FYI, I've been looking into this on the newly installed v5.04.020 firmware on my DS-7616NI-M2.

I was able to duplicate something similar..... similar but not identical. I do NOT know if this issue existed at v5.03.xxx firmware..... I didn't test for it.

Some observations, etc:
  • are you on v5.04.020 firmware too ?
  • I have no idea how you got the loopback address 127.0.0.1 in there. When I switched to Manual Sync, it picked up my laptop's IP address in that Time Sync error message.
  • I was not able to eliminate the error message by switching back from Manual Sync to my normal, in house time server. (I run a Time Server off my switch)
  • The one method that did eliminate the Time Sync error message:
    • on your Time config menu, set your desired Time Server
    • save it
    • then RE-BOOT the NVR
For me, the re-boot cleared it up.

Yeah, smells like another HIK defect. Forcing a re-boot to clear this up does seem a little over the top.

Yep, I just did a reboot and the manual time sync on row 2 had cleared with the green bar across the top confirming "Time sync is normal".

Thank you both for your replies :)

I'm still on v5.03.020 and everything is working fine so far. I have no idea where the 127.0.0.1 came from too!
