As I wrote here, in the NVR in subject not work with smart events (perimeter protection).
I tried to set VCA option as suggest in thread that I linked.
In the monitor UI said "no channel available"
In web browser said "unsupported function".
Only basic events such detect motion works.
The same devices worked perfectly with the previous NVRs that I own (DS-7608NXI-K1 and DS-7608NXI-I2/8P/4S).
When I bought the NVR it had a v4.xx firmware with the same problems.
Then i upgraded at the latest v5.04.020 without success.
Yesterday i had downgrade at v5.03.020 but the problem had no fix.
Any suggestions?

VCA and Smart Events are different things. This is confusing as sometimes in the menu there are VCA related items that effect recording and display of Smart Events. I think you're just looking in the wrong place..the VCA menu in this NVR is for other alerts. To set up what you want you just need to be in 'Event Center'.

  • On the NVR local screen open 'Event Center'
  • Click 'Event Configuration'
  • It opens on 'Generic Event' which is Motion
  • Along the top you'll see 'Perimeter Protection' - click that
  • Select your camera and you can set up your Smart Events - Line Crossing, Intrusion etc
OR if you're using the web browser setup
  • Log in to the NVR
  • Configuration > Event Center > Event Configuration > Event Configuration
  • Select 'Perimeter Protection'
  • Select your camera then 'Line Crossing' or 'Intrusion'
  • Configure as required

I enabled VCA because you suggested it. I use exactly the menu you just pointed out. The perimeter/intrusion protection menu exists and I can see it but there are no channels/devices available to select. So there is no way to apply this rule. It should be a very simple thing. And in fact in two other recorders it worked without problems.

Maybe it is something to do with the cameras you have. What model are they?

Your previous 2 recorders were NXI models, they will allow the recorder to do Line Crossing and Intrusion even when the cameras do not support it as the recorder can do the processing. For NI models all smart events have to be generated by the camera as the recorder does not have the capability built in.

For now I have two Ezviz devices and one Hikvision DS-2CD1347G2-LUF.
So, definitely, they are incompatibile with protection perimeter for M Series NVRs?
I must to add other devices in this NVR.
What features will they need to have to be fully compatible?

Yes they are definitely incompatible. You need to look at the data sheet before buying the cameras. They will say if they support Smart Events such as Line Crossing and Intrusion. Below is a screenshot of part of the data sheet for the DS-2CD1347G2-LUF. It only has Basic Events:

Save yourself time and money. Check the data sheet specifications before buying the camera. If it doesn't mention a feature, it doesn't have that feature.
