After a firmware a update on my cam I have lost Onvif access.

No matter what I have tried I can't set the password to what it used to be??

Even if I delete or add new users its still the same.

I try to set the password (as in the 1st pic) but it just keeps setting to some 6 character pass like in the 2nd pic??

Any help on this??

Thanks.

One solution could be to default the camera, probably not the preferred solution though.
Not sure what you mean to 'default' the camera?

Anyone else know what as happened with this?? and possible solution? or know what the 6 character password is that its filling itself??

No, don't touch that! That is the admin account for the camera... you must know that password because you are logged into the camera menus... no need to change that...

The other/first user screen you were on is the ONVIF user which was set up to be named admin also... could have been anything... when you modify there you are changing the ONVIF user "admin" password and setting the user "Level"... you can even change the ONVIF username there... or add more than 1 user with a different level permission...

Don't worry that after you change the password the next time you see "******"... it's so someone doesn't know the true length of the password I suppose...

Then try accessing the camera via ONVIF with the password you set...

If you need more details let me know (I never used ONVIF I'm just guessing :) ) ...

I suppose there's a good chance you are using the same password for both the camera admin password and the ONVIF user "admin" password?

Thanks for your help john,

After looking into this more today I may have jumped the gun thinking its something to do with the Onvif password as being the problem.

Checking with 'Onvif Device Manager' app I can see the cam. So everything must be ok in the Onvif config page.

Yes by looking at your password box pic above its like mine with the ******. So I thought something was wrong there but all good.

Yes same password.

I use iSpy for 'remote' live viewing using the Onvif tab as the 'video source' option which was working fine till the firmware update on the cam.

So it seems like something happened/ changed after the update and iSpy can't see the cam no more for some reason?? Pic below.

I did already check IP, its still the same?? My other cam still connects with Onvif in iSpy.

'Onvif Device Manager' doesn't even ask for a user and pass?? and uses the same url as iSpy.

Thats why before I was thinking it was something to do with the user and pass in iSpy??

And also on the comp where the cam is located 'Onvif Device Manager' cant see the cam??
I need to look into that more and see if I can get it online there.

I may have to open a new topic in this hole problem??

I don't think you need to start a new topic yet.

Is there an NVR involved? If so, are the cameras connected to NVR PoE ports, or are they on the LAN with the NVR?

And what is the IP address of the camera that is working?

Yes there is an NVR, but the both cams are on the LAN with the NVR.

IP of working cam is 192.168.1.115 as in pic above.

I'm trying Onvif Device Manager on a camera here... Is this essentially where you are stuck:

I can get to where you are with Onvif Device Manager on my remote pc, (with NO SIGNAL also) where im stuck is connecting in iSpy app, as in pic.

Can't get cam to work in Onvif Device Manager locally?? It can see the stream but thats all access it has?? pic below

I found out why I was getting no signal in Onvif Device Manager... my camera was set to H.265... the Onvif Device Manager only handles H.264... maybe your camera switched to H.265 when the firmware was loaded?

Here's where to check/set H.264 ...

I had it set to H265+ and was working in iSpy before update, so its not that. I haven't tried on remote pc yet but id say it will get signal when switched to 264.

Switching to H 264 still didn't do anything with my local pc with Onvif Device Manager though.

I download and installed iSpy "Agent DVR"... Works here locally...

Is this what you are using? I don't think so? I don't see a screen similar to your "Video Source"...

I think you may need help from someone familiar with iSpy?

Im using an old version of iSpy before they went to Agent. It does what I need for live viewing.

If you want to try and see if you can get it to work, im using the last version iSpy 7.2.6.

You can find it somewhere like here - iSpy 7.2.6 (64-bit) Download for Windows / Old Versions / FileHorse.com

When installed right click in the program window and select 'add camera' and you will see the box in pic below.
Select the Onvif tab, then use 'http://192.168.154.199/onvif/device_service' for your cam in network address, then your user & pass from the hik Onvif config page and go 'next'
and you should see the next box to select the stream you want to use (in the pic below is my other cam)

Thanks for your help on this john.

OK, did that worked straight away:

Now I'll try to break it and get your error message "No media endpoints found"...
