Hi Guys,

I am just setting up a camera system with the Ubiquiti | sunMAX.

I am trying to connect Hikvision IP cameras directly to the Poe ports which
I don't think is the correct voltage for a camera to be plugged in directly.

Do I buy a poe 12v splitter for this ?

POE should just be plug & play.
Check that all your POE devices are to the IEEE 802.3(a,t,f, or b) standard.
No need to over-think it or worry about the voltages in-play.
POE actually uses a higher voltage (35-57 volts) to enable it to go longer distance.
When that arrives on the network socket of say a camera the internal electronics reduce it to what the camera needs to operate :)

I just wanted to offer some advice too.

In my experience, lots of ubiquiti products use 24V POE (some other standard of POE). Hikvision IP Cameras use the most common standard of POE which outputs 48V.

It's a good point you make - Ubiqiti were always notorious for non-standard POE, but I kind of assume everybody works to the standard nowadays ...
