Hi,

I have suddenly lost my camera live view in my DS-7616NI-M2/16P, firmware V5.04.070 build 250828 and the Hik Connect App. I keep getting asked for the security code in the Hik Connect App.

I did have an encryption key set up but I keep being told this is incorrect!

If I select forgot Password in the App, the security code is sent to an email account I no longer have access to.

I cannot see a way to change the email address to my current one, I tried to delete the account but again the security code is sent to my unaccusable email address.

I have tried a factory reset of the NVR but still no live view!

Any advice would be appreciated.

You must be tying it incorrectly. The encryption key is viewable if you go to System Settings > Network > Hik-Connect. On the third image on the screen beneath the QR code you'll see 'Verification Code'. Click the eyeball to view it and then you can type that into your app. On that same page you can just click 'More Settings' in the top right and turn off the switch for 'Stream Encryption'

Unnecessary. It's not the password and that option will not reset/change the encryption key/verification code

Depending on which option you used to factory reset...IE if you clicked to restore all defaults, you'll need to set it all up from scratch and re register it with Hik-Connect potentially.

HI,

Thanks for the quick reply,
I have carried out what you suggested and I had been using the correct encryption key and have got the cameras showing in the Hik Connect App now but I still have no live view using the browser (Edge) on my PC. All the cameras are showing as connected in Device Access.
I did uninstall Web plug in and local service components in and then reinstalled them, but no joy!
When I carried out the reset to factory default I did have to start from scratch, Do you think it's trying to do this again?

Do you get an error when you try and display the cameras in Edge browser? Maybe try turning off Stream Encryption if you haven't already then clear your browser history and try again.

Hi,

I don't get any error messages, just a blank screen!

I will try and clear the browser history and get back to you, most likely tomorrow now.

Cheers.
Richard.

@flycop2000 - check this thread:

@johnfitzy and others are having the same issue with the latest version of NVR firmware that you’re using.

Hi,

I tried clearing the browser history but no joy.
Others having the same problem, seems to coincide with the Edge update a yesterday?

Yeah I would monitor that thread for updates. I'm no longer using my M recorder so it's on the previous version.
