It's a ferret nest box, and I've used ip cams for years, and they work great on IR. The ferrets can't see that wavelength so that's good too. The brightness of the IRs is adjustable but I find it's a good picture and not washed out or over bright. I get what you say and it's totally what u might...
I can't go for the 2**7 ColorVu models as they don't have IR for night view. The colorvu's ambient white light at night would be very intrusive in a nest box, and without it, it would see nothing in pitch darkness.
As its a nest box I don't need any acusense stuff, so does that mean that I'd be better going for the older 5 series for the (ever so slightly) larger sensor? Or were there other upgrades in the 6? I already have the 6 in another box and am happy with the performance. Can't get a better size in...
Been looking for a used bargain "powered by darkfighter" cam, and ideally it'd be a 2cd2046g2, but I'm seeing a lot of 2cd2045 models. I looked at the spec sheets which were similar, although the older '5' model has a larger sensor at 1/2.5" compared to the newer 6 model at 1/3".
What is...
When streaming RTMP direct to YT, yes I got quality alerts. When streaming via OBS, no alerts, very stable "excellent" stream health reported by YT. No dropped/missed/skipped frames in OBS, but then that is using RTSP from cam to OBS, not the cams RTMP protocol.
For clarity, I dont involve...
Not really sure how to test if latency issue. It does pause and jitter but it also just gives spurious colour blocking issues in part of the screen whilst the rest of the screen is smooth. I'm using 8.8.8.8 dns so surely can't be much better than that. It's what all of the streaming providers...
Hey all
I've got a DS-2CD2086G2-IU, which is all wired using CAT6 on my gigabit LAN, and ultimately to my FTTP ISP at 1000mpbs up/down.
I successfully updated the firmware to the version with RTMP (V5.5.131 build 210609), then enabled RTMP in the config, and set YouTube up to receive the...
I disconnected both cams from the poe port for a while and then plugged DoorCam back in and it worked. RoofCam also worked when back online. So both now work via the NVR registration.
Still cant get the DoorCam to register as 'online' in the 'Platform' section of the web GUI, or to accept as...
Oh dear I was too quick to treat this as resolved. So when I manually added my Cams by using the 'online' feature, it just found them on the local (192.168....) LAN, but now I'm outside the network they obviously don't load.
Any other ideas as to why the NVR is only providing the one camera feed?
Oh, so i assumed that in the live view on the app, that as I had registered the NVR that it would automatically display all relevant cams. Afterall, it provided 4 camera boxes and one contained the working RoofCam.
But seeing as you mentioned manually adding cameras, I tapped the plus sign at...
I have an Hikvision NVR with two Hikvision cams attached via a LAN (not direct into back of NVR).
NVR: DS-7604NI-K1/4P(B)
RoofCam: DS-2CD2385G1
DoorCam: DS-2CD2142FWD-IS
I set up Hik-Connect, and entered the NVR serial number. The 'RoofCam' shows up fine on live view on the Hik-Connect...
Thanks for the response. It's odd that it's not there as a standard feature, as I'd have thought it pretty fundamental to CCTV footage/security review. Are any other brands better in this regard?
Looking at Hikvisikion cam/NVR setup, is it possible to continuously record, but have the system also identify times when an event happened? For example, I don't want to have to watch a whole night's recording to see if anyone was scouting out a building.
