I wished I hadn't bought the version I did as it is clucky and not particularly speedy. I have the DS-7608NI-K2 / 8P with a seperate POE switch and only 5 cameras and if you want to use h.265 or h.265+ it is next to useless.

Is it possible to set cameras to have a local IP address when connected to the NVRs POE ports please? I am guessing not and I will need to keep using my Netgear switch plugged into the NVR?

Also, if I did go for the 4 channel version, can you add a 5th using my other POE switch or is it 100% limited via the software?
Hello, I currently run 4x8k HikVision cameras on my QNAP via QVR Pro and it is starting to cripple the NAS box. So I am starting to look at ta dedicated NVR or decent software I can run on a seperate PC.
Any ideas please? I don't need POE in the NVR as I have a 8 port netgear switch already up...
