Your problem is the iDS-7208HQHI-K1/4S(C) doesn't support POC like your old DVR did. You will need the iDS-7204HUHI-M1/P

Seems a very odd choice to invest in their equipment when you don't trust the software that interfaces with said hardware. What makes you think they haven't hidden anything in the software baked into their hardware? You are welcome to contact their tech support, they'll tell you the same.
