Adding a Microphone directly to the DS-7732NI-M4-24P NVR?

I have a DS-7732NI-M4-24P - POE Network Video Recorder with 16 cameras connected to it. 4 of the cameras have a mic and speaker built-in for 2 way communication via the HikConnect app. It all works very well.

However, since I have a monitor in my office with the cameras always displayed, I would like the option to use a microphone in the office to talk to any of the 4 cameras I have selected without using the phone app.
If I was to connect a microphone to the Audio-in port at the back of the NVR. I am assuming I can do this?
Or, would the microphone simply act as a disjoint recording channel just for audio and not link live to any camera?

Hi @imtiyazp

See the below forum thread where this issue is discussed and includes a document from Hikvision that explains how to configure this:

bumping an old thread.... the attached guide states that the NVR does not support using the NVR's RCA audio in socket to send audio directly to the camera. If this is correct then are the only ways to send audio to the camera's speaker (or audio output) to use Hikconnect, IVMS, Web UI? Are there any hikvision keyboard controllers that either have a built-in microphone or have a microphone input which can then be used to address the camera audio output? I am also wondering if any of the Hikvision intercom Door Station units would also be able to perform this function.

Tbh it does seem a bit of an odd setup to have an audio input RCA socket on the NVR but for it to not be able to address a camera output. Has any suggestion been made to Hikvision for a firmware patch/update which would add an option in the Web UI menu (possibly on "system">"menu output" page) which would be entitled "local two-way audio target" and a dropdown list so the web client can specify "Client / Webpage" or "Active Channel", and that if "Active Channel" is selected then on the local Live View screen the live view toolbar would have an extra icon added to it of a microphone which when selected would open the 2-way audio to the camera...
