Hi there - the title says it all, really! I'm trying to get a joystick working in Pelco's VideoXpert VMS.

It is not very accommodating software. I've spoken to both Pelco and Axis tech support - VX doesn't seem to work with windows drivers for anything but the mouse and keyboard - Pelco have special drivers for THEIR keyboards/joysticks etc, but no support for third party hardware.

I'm wondering if there's a way to spoof it in to working with a virtual COM port or something like that, but I don't know VX very well yet, and I was hoping there might be someone here who knows it, maybe even someone who has tried what I am trying!

Any advice or suggestion is welcome. This is for a customer, so changing the VMS is not possible (trust me, we ALL wish it was!!). We will try a Pelco keyboard at some point, but we haven't got ahold of one yet, and I'd like to be able to get it working with generic interface hardware if possible.

Thanks in advance for your awesome, helpful and hilarious responses!
