Hi,

I have done a couple of searches and can't find a discussion on this question elsewhere, but please do direct me elsewhere if you already have a thread on this question:

What CCTV software platforms do you recommend and do you have a feature comparison and/or a rough idea of which ones are more/less expensive? We currently only have HikVision hardware (and this is likely to remain the case, but with newer hardware to be installed) with 8 video recorders, over 100 IP cameras and around 20 analogue cameras. We currently use HikVision's free iVMS-4200 software installed on invidual clients but are looking to use software that can be installed on a server.

We are in the process of trialling HikCentral Professional.

With thanks,

Mike

Hi @mikejburden

If your system is made up entirely of Hikvision devices then the HikCentral software might be the best solution as it will offer the most support for the unique Hikvision smart features.

We do have this old forum post that discusses CCTV Software for schools and recommends Vivotek's VAST2 software as a popular, user-friendly option (VAST2 is being replaced by the latest version of Vivotek's software called VSS).

Other options to consider would be Milestone and Luxriot.
