DS-2CD2146G2-ISU email image attachment resolution?

Anyone know if there is a way to set the resolutin of the images sent with smart event email notificaitons on DS-2CD2146G2-ISU cameras?

I've one site with 4 G3 models and one G5. The G3 cameras are all on the same firmware (I'll have to check) and the G5 is on a not quite latest revision.

However, all have the main stream set to 1920 x 1080 and that is the resolution the "snapshot" images sent with smart event notificaitons are sent at.

I've a second site with two DS-2CD2146G2-ISU G5 cameras, both on the latest firmware.

For some reason all the smart event notifications they send have image attachements at 1280 x 720 resolution and I've no idea why.

The main stream resolutin is set the same as the other site - 1920 x 1080.

The site with the 5 cameras uses a Foscam NVR purely for recording. It plays no part in the notifications at all as it connects to the cameras via ONVIF.

The second site, with the new G5 cameras, has a DS-7604NI-K1-4P(C) NVR but, again, (as far as I know) I'm only using that for recording. It has no email settings at all set up. I've done all that on the cameras directly along with the smart event configuration.

Anyone any ideas why these two new cameras are sending images at this odd resolutin and any suggestions as to how to change it to 1920 x 1080

The two new G5 cameras are both on firmware V5.7.13_230504_S3000497169 while the NVR is on firmware V4.72.109_230107_S3000476236.

The other site, which sends the 1920 x 1080 resolution still images with notifications has the following firmware:

The G3 cameras have V5.5.160 build 210108.

The G5 camera has V5.7.3 build 220216.

Well that was interesting.

I've just upgraded the firmware on the G5 camera at the site with 4 x G3 cameras and 1 x G5.

Under firmware V5.7.3 build 220216. it sent smart event notification emails with attached images at 1920 x 1080.

After upgrading it to V5.7.13_230504 it is now sending smart event notification emails with attached images at 1280 x 720.

Well that is a backward move....

Any explanation from HivVision as to why and are there any settings one can alter to change it?

I think I rather have the older firmware with the higher quality notification images.

Hi.

Many thanks for the suggestion. However that is one of the first things I tried with no effect.

The excellent support guys at Use-IP have subsequently found out direct from Hikvision that resolution of pics attached to email notifications is hard coded on this model camera.

It used to be full HD resolution but was lowered in the latest revisions of firmware to cure some issue that some customers were experiencing.

It would be nice if Hikvision introduced a setting for it in the future, but for now it is what it is.
