Hi All,
I have recently salvaged the above camera from a piecemeal system that was decommissioned for a new Uniview setup; I often don't bother with this sort of thing but this particular camera seems more likely to be useable than the normal skip fodder. (I believe this is a "Hybrid Light" camera as opposed to 24/7 "ColorVu")

The only obvious issue with the camera is the RJ45 socket has been ripped off the pigtail so just the twisted pairs of wires remain. The Alarm, Audio, and Power jack are undamaged.

The RJ45 twisted pair wiring colours are as follows:
- Blue & Green
- Yellow & Orange
- Violet & Grey
- Maroon (dark red) & White

.... My plan is to simply fit a passthrough RJ45 plug on the end and use a weatherproof RJ45 coupler, though initially I plan on using this indoors so IP65 won't strictly be necessary
- with the exposed end of the wires facing AWAY from me and the metal pins of the passthrough RJ45 plug facing UP, what order should the twisted pair wires be arranged through the plug?

As a reference, I typically use the arrangement WHITE_ORANGE, ORANGE, WHITE_GREEN, BLUE, WHITE_BLUE, GREEN, WHITE_BROWN, BROWN when crimping a new Cat5 cable ("designation T568B") with Pin1 being WHITE_ORANGE.

Any help appreciated

I’ve never needed to re-terminate one but found this on my files which I saved at some point:

Edit: removed as possibly inaccurate.

I’ve never needed to re-terminate one but found this on my files which I saved at some point. When referring to the individual wires you refer to “white/orange” (just as I always have) It should be referred to as “orange/white”. Not being pedantic, I only mention it as the below refers to them in that ‘correct’ way.

Hikvision - T568B

Orange to Orange / White
Yellow to Orange
Green to Green / White
Grey to Blue
Purple to Blue / White
Blue to Green
Brown to Brown / White
White to Brown

Depending on if you wire to T568A or T568B standards see the two columns below.

I use T568B which the bulletin says is actually different from @JB1970 - in that grey/purple are the other way around - the bulletin says grey to blue/white and purple to blue.

I have done a few of these pigtail re-wires and they are not easy - mainly as the cores are soft so it's not at all easy to push them into the RJ45 connectors like you would with stiffer cat5 cable cores. It's doable but very fiddly and also not helped by the shortness of the pigtail (especially if you want to re-fit a waterproof cable gland on the pigtail).

I use the push-through type RJ45 connectors which may help doing this.

I think yours is likely to be correct as it's an official document. I probably copied what was originally posted above from this or another forum so I've removed it (before I get accused of bricking someone's camera!)
