Hi all,

Really hoping for some help here, not sure what to do next.

I'm trying to access my camera (DS-2CD2H86G2) and the browser returns a 404 message.

Access Error: 404 -- Not Found
Can't locate document: /index.asp

IVMS connects to it fine, and my NVR is recording from it fine. In IVMS if I go to Maintenance and Mangement > Device > Select camera > Advanced setttings it only opens remote configuration for storage and no other device features are there.

I've tried restarting the power, and still can't connect.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that you are browsing to the correct IP address?
Is that IP address valid within your LAN's domain range?
And the camera is connected to your LAN, not to an NVR?

Thanks for the response.

I have 7 cameras all connected to a switch, the NVR is connected to the switch as well, (no camera is connected to the NVR).

I can access all the other cameras fine by their IP, it's defininatly the right IP address, IVMS also shows this IP next to the camera status and shows it as green online. All cameras are sequential IPs e.g. 192.168.1.151 - 192.168.1.159 and this cameras is in the middle.

Just to double check I've ran a port scanner and it detects the IP and shows it as alive.

Which browser are you using?
With Windows?
Have you tried alternative browsers?
Are you getting sufficient access to see the firmware version?
If an update is available that might kick it back to normality ...

I'm using Windows 11 and Internet explorer. I've tried other browsers and get the same error.
I can't get any access to the camera apart from what litte I can see in IVMS.

What I have just realised is if I try and connect through IVMS and use the advanced settings link, it quickly flashes the full remote configuration options with the device information screen and menu options to the normal general, time, system maintenance etc. Then it all vanishes and just shows the remote configuration storage options.

It looks like there is a newer firmware V5.5.800 build 210628, typically it's dated a year older than the current firmware on there. So I"m not entirely confident.

I'm worried if I try and do a hard reset from the camera it may entirely stop working.

Well I thought I'd try one last time of power cycling before doing the hard reset and now I have access! Thanks for your help.

It's an odd one.

Perhaps try using SADP to check and list your cameras.
It's a pretty base level tool.
It should at least confirm the camera's IP address and its current firmware.

Do you have other cameras of the same model installed?
Running the same firmware version?

In case anyone else encounters this issue, the latest version on the firmware V5.5.820 build 231108 (2024-04-11) installed fine and the camera is fully operational and no issues connecting.

It's been a couple of years since I've had to mess with my Hikvision cameras, and I'm still surprised what a mess the Hikvision sites are for firmware.
