Help with Firmware for a DS-7604NI-K1/4P(B) NVR

Hi all.

Just joined as I am desperately looking to update my oldish NVR to the latest software / firmware versions. Unfortunately I am having difficulty in finding the correct versions for my NVR. The model is DS-7604NI-K1/4P(B) with a firmware version (I assume this is firmware reference) of [redacted serial number].
I have been told that both firmware and software can be downloaded via the correct link onto a USB for direct upload into the NVR.

What you have shared above is actually the NVR serial number and not the firmware version (I've removed the S/N from your original message).

Do you access your NVR directly with a VGA/HDMI monitor?

Dan. Thanks for the update. I can get access to the NVR but will be a while as its in the loft. Can you point me in the right direction for getting this number?

Okay,

If you have access to a PC that is on the same network as the NVR, you can install HiTools Delivery on that PC.

Once installed, go to the 'Device Management' menu, where you should see the NVR listed with a column on that list that confirms the current firmware version of the NVR.

Appreciate the help. As you can see Im not well versed with this system! However, I have logged into the actual NVR and the firmware version is listed on the configuration page is V3.4.100 build 180310. I am currently downloading the HiTool program but discovered my version of software is not up to date. Let me get this sorted out and will re-post when done. However, the number I have given you was as listed on the actual NVR as the firmware version

The firmware you are currently running is quite far out of date.

See this list of all versions released since your firmware version - your firmware dates to 2018, and the latest firmware for this NVR is 2024.

As you are running such an old firmware version, we recommend you update the firmware in steps in order shown below:

V3.4.112 build200415
V4.30.000_build200508
V4.30.097_build240401

I assume I have to download each version to a USB and update each one in sequence? Will the NVR auto update when the USB is inserted into the NVR

Yes, you will need to load the firmware one at a time on a USB stick, plug it into the NVR USB port, and then navigate to the Maintenance menu using a direct monitor to install the firmware file.

Alternatively, if you have HiTools Delivery installed, you can update the firmware in that tool.
